Junk Reality 101

All of us have junk.  Sometimes we don’t know it’s junk.  One man’s 15 year old beloved armchair can be just a stained, ripped up eyesore to his wife.  Sometimes we do know it’s junk but we think we’re going to get around to getting rid of it someday. When people ask us why someone should use us to remove their junk when they can do it themselves the response often looks like this:

Will you remove it yourself?

All too often we just don’t do it. There are plenty of reasons but the overwhelming majority of the time we hear that someone just “can’t throw it out”.  The chair or crib has sentimental value. The old air hockey table has memories attached to it.  Why should you call us? Because we’re not attached to the items and we can move them without it causing us any pain or regret.

Sometimes we will hear that they don’t need to call junk hauling because they “got some friends they can call”.

Will they show up when they say they will?

Not to bust on anyone’s friends but most of us have things we would rather do than lifting a sofa on weekends or an old 52 inch television set.  Most of the time you will hear every excuse in the world why “this isn’t a good weekend” and that’s really a nice way of saying “that’s way too heavy for me to lift.”  The problem also comes when they do help and get hurt. We do this for a living and have the right equipment. The last thing anyone needs coming between them and their long-time friendships is medical bills.

And then there’s the really nice people who do plan on donating the items but they never get around to it because they have to borrow a vehicle or get help to drop it off at Goodwill.

Will you ever find the time?

Once people decide to donate an item they are committed, so if you’ve put that item in the “donate” or “recycle” list you’re pretty much going to donate it.   So our question in these situations is why haven’t you? Is it because you cannot find the time or is it because you have no one to help you? We pick up junk all the time for people and drop it off at Goodwill. If you can’t find someone, call us.

And lastly we do hear a lot of people telling us that it’s just too expensive to have someone else remove junk. The truth is we’re not that expensive and dumpsters cost money too. We show up and clean it up and clear it out.

We offer same day service and are available 24/7 so whenever you get the slightest urge to purge, give us a call and we’ll be right over.

All the best from your local, family owned junk hauling team!
